Coach Any Reid called it a “heck of a hit.” Reid wouldn’t make any predictions on whether this was career-threatening to Westbrook “In these types of situations, football is secondary. We’ve got to look [out for] this kid and for his future and make sure everything’s OK for him before he gets back out there,” he said, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

The Eagles may look into signing free agents Edgerrin James, Larry Johnson, and Warrick Dunn.

The Eagles look to improve their record to 11-0 under Andy Reid following the bye week, as they face a Tampa Bay team still looking for its first win. A healthy Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook are expected to be back in the lineup on offense, while the defense welcomes back a familiar face in veteran linebacker Jeremiah Trotter.

Coming off a relaxing bye week in which the team got healthy, the Eagles resume their course towards the playoffs against a Buccaneers team that appears it may be on a sinking ship. The Eagles expect to have both Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook back when they hit Lincoln Financial Field hoping to get to 3-1. The Eagles have started the season with three blowout games, coming out on the plus side of two of those, and indications are that they may be in for another romp against the Bucs. But this is NFL, where every team has the talent to win every week, so the Eagles are expected to be focused and ready to go coming out of their off-week. Remember that head coach Andy Reid is 10-0 after the bye week with the Eagles.

In any event, it’s a good sign for this Sunday’s game. Go Eagles!

Words can’t express my thoughts when I heard that former Falcons QB Michael Vick had signed on with the Eagles. Former Colts coach Tony Dungy had alluded to the fact that an annoucement regarding Vick would be made this week, but I don’t think ANYONE saw him making the move to Philadelphia?!

Within minutes, hateful comments about Vick started showing up on my Facebook wall. I bit my tongue, as these bandwagon idiots will be singing Vick’s praises if he ends up taking the Iggles to the big game.

Personally, I think it’s a shrewed move on Andy Reid’s part, and I hope it works out for the Eagles. McNabb has been public in his push to bring Vick to the Eagles, and he’s gotten his wish.

The Eagles are giving fans their first chance to see the entire 2009 team at Lincoln Financial Field at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, at the inaugural Eagles Flight Night! while raising funds in support of Eagles Youth Partnership.

Fans will be able to see their favorite veterans and rookies suit up for Eagles Flight Night! and participate in a preseason practice. For many of the 2009 free agents and draft picks, this will be the first time that they will play at Lincoln Financial Field.

Offering something for the entire family, Eagles Flight Night! will feature:

This week, the Eagles head to the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis as the top prospects in the 2009 NFL Draft go through a series of tests and workouts to determine who will be the top pick on April 25th. The Eagles currently have 10 picks overall and two in the first round. And once the Combine is in the books, all eyes will turn to free agency which begins next Friday.
